ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to the two most wonderfully supportive parents. At a very young age, I was put into ballet, tap, and theatre classes at companies in our community. I grew up in a music-loving family, so singing was basically ingrained in me from birth. All the way from pre-school through high school I trained in acting at a local Shakespeare company and progressed in dance, adding jazz and hip-hop into the mix later down the road. I would sing in choruses at school and in church, but it wasn't until middle school that I discovered I was able to participate in something called "musical theatre." Up until that point, singing, theatre and dance were hobbies just as much as sports were in my mind. I was set on being a veterinarian and I was positive that nothing would change my mind. Then Beauty and the Beast Jr introduced itself to me and I never looked back. My life took a complete pivot and everything was Broadway and theatre. I started absorbing everything I could about this wonderful community and set my sights on majoring in musical theatre.
I was thrilled to hit the Big Apple to pursue musical theatre at Manhattan School of Music in 2020. In a city this big, it's hard not to fall in love with everything she has to offer, especially when the transition period is during one of the biggest global events of the century. I discovered passions within the theatre community that didn't necessarily involve being on stage, such as performance and headshot photography, writing plays, songs and poetry, and video editing. I also discovered interests outside of theatre that are still extremely useful in the career field. I started learning about costume design to create my own cosplays for conventions. (If you're unfamiliar, cosplay is not only when you dress up as a character, but when you also take on the personality of that character -- so it's a bit of an acting exercise as well!) I think that's my favorite part of where I am now -- the possibilities being absolutely endless.
